The appearance of dedifferentiated foci varies more than has been acknowledged in the past. In the report by Henricks et al, the most common pattern was that of a high-grade malignant fibrous histiocytoma consisting of atypical spindle cells and pleomorphic cells arranged haphazardly or in short fascicles. In a few tumors, the dedifferentiated area was [...]

A Case of Dedifferentiated Liposarcoma That Developed in the Dermis: DISCUSSION part 2
A Case of Dedifferentiated Liposarcoma That Developed in the Dermis: DISCUSSION
Liposarcoma is a heterogenous group of malignant mesenchymal neoplasms that exhibit varying degrees of adipocytic differentiation. The anatomic distribution of liposarcoma appears to be partly related to the histologic type: well-differentiated liposarcoma tends to occur in the deep soft tissues of both the limbs and the retroperitoneum; myxoid/ round cell and pleomorphic liposarcomas exhibit a [...]

A Case of Dedifferentiated Liposarcoma That Developed in the Dermis: CASE REPORT
A 40-year-old Korean woman presented to our dermatology clinic with a skin lesion on the right thigh, and this lesion had developed 5 years previously. She noticed a recent increase of its size and the development of tenderness. Her personal and family histories were not remarkable. The physical examination revealed a 9 mm-size dome- shape [...]
A Case of Dedifferentiated Liposarcoma That Developed in the Dermis
INTRODUCTION Liposarcoma is the most common soft tissue sarcoma, accounting for 20% of all the soft tissue malignancies in adults. The anatomic distribution of liposarcoma depends largely on the histologic subtype, but the deep soft tissue of the extremities and the retroperitoneum are the most frequently affected sites. Whereas it is accepted that liposarcoma rarely [...]

Recurrent Classical Type of Kaposi’s Sarcoma Treated by Interferon-a: DISCUSSION
Kaposi’s sarcoma (KS) is a lympho-angiopro- liferative disease, having four variants; epidemic or AIDS-associated KS, endemic or African KS, iatrogenic immunodepression-associated KS and Mediterranean or classical KS (CKS). Classical KS is characterized by single or multiple pea-sized bluish- red macules on the distal portions of the lower extremities.
Recurrent Classical Type of Kaposi’s Sarcoma Treated by Interferon-a: CASE REPORT
Patient: A 58 year-old male Chief complaint: A tender, firm, erythematous nodule with surrounding small papules and macules on the right sole for 6 months Physical examination: A 1.2 cm sized, firm, dome shaped, erythematous nodule and multiple, 7 ~8 mm-sized, satellite purplish macules and papules (Fig. 1A)
Recurrent Classical Type of Kaposi’s Sarcoma Treated by Interferon-a
INTRODUCTION Kaposi’s sarcoma (KS) is a rare lympho-angio- proliferative disease. Classical KS usually appears in elderly Eastern European Jewish or Mediterranean men, with male to female ratio of approximately 3 : 1. It is clinically characterized by single or multiple pea-sized bluish-red macules on the distal portions of the lower extremities. The lesion usually progresses [...]
