There were 190 (response rate 77.6%) physicians-in-training who participated in the study. Demographic data for physicians-in-training are displayed in Table 2. Figure 2 and 3 demonstrate method A and method В for incidence and mortality for each training group. The numeric values are demonstrated in Tables 3 and 4. Figure 2 displays the extremely low scores of all three groups for both method A and method В for incidence in either female or male patients. With such low scores, there were no statistically significant differences between the three groups in female or male patients with either scoring method.

There were statistically significant differences among the three groups in all scores except for method В in female patients. Surgical residents performed better than the medical residents and students in method A for mortality in both male and female patients (p<0.003).
